It’s time for the second beta of Storefront 2.0 (for real this time). We’ve fixed a handful of bugs but also made a few final design tweaks which is why we’re running a (hopefully) short second beta.

Here’s what we’ve changed since beta 1;

Roboto > Source Sans

Roboto was a move in the right direction, but having tested some more fonts I’ve settled on Source Sans Pro. The primary reason for this is that this face is a little narrower (at no expense to legibility) which means you’ll be able to fit more menu items into your navigation.

I also happen to think that the relationship between the different weights is a little tighter than Roboto.

Changed the background color

The background color is now white instead of light grey. This provides greater contrast between it and the text making the main content area WCAG AAA compliant for accessibility.

Tables, the breadcrumb, and other elements have been updated to reflect this change.

‘Secondary’ link styles

Finally, a consistent style has been applied to ‘secondary’ links. I classify these as links that are secondary to the main page content. Essentially this means link in the sidebar / breadcrumb.
